Are you looking at your Blink security camera and seeing a flashing green light?

What is causing it, and how can you fix it?

When your Blink camera shows a flash green light, the internet connection is not working.

There are a few reasons why this is happening:

  • The internet is down, and the internet provider is having issues.
  • Your camera is not getting a good wifi signal.
  • Blink server issues.

How To Resolve The Issue

For most problems with this, the solution is quite simple. However, you may need to try a few solutions before you find one that works. I would recommend trying the following in the same order as shown below. This should work for all Blink cameras, such as the Blink Mini camera, Blink XT2, Blink indoor camera, etc.

You first want to consider whether or not you are having problems with your Blink server. You can find this out by opening your blink app on your phone and seeing if you can log into your account.

This would not be the issue if you could log into the account. However, if you run into login problems, you probably need to wait until the Blink servers are online again.

Reboot Yout Internet Router

If it is an internet provider issue with the internet connection, there is a good chance that rebooting the internet router will fix the problem. All you need to do is unplug your internet router and plug it back in. In many cases, this will get your internet up and running again.

Move The Internet Router Closer To The Camera Or Sync Module

Sometimes, a wireless internet connection will work perfectly at one location but not at another. It could also be that the camera is too far from the device’s router or sync module. Try moving the router closer to the Blink camera or Blink Sync Module and see if that helps. If nothing works, try the next option.

Power Cycle The Camera

You can easily power cycle the camera by taking out the batteries and putting them back in. Then, wait for 30 seconds or so for it to reboot itself.

You can also try deleting the camera from your Blink app and adding it back in. To do this:

  1. Open the Blink app.
  2. Click the settings icon on the top right-hand side of the camera’s display image.
  3. Scroll down and click the red delete button.
  4. Add it back in again as you usually would.

Still Not Working?

If none of the above solutions work, I would suggest reaching out to Blink Support so that they can help you troubleshoot the problem.
