Yes, Leviton works with HomeKit. The Decora Smart line – their Wi-Fi 2nd Gen switches and dimmers – supports Apple Home natively, no bridge required. If you have a newer home with neutral wires and want reliable HomeKit-compatible switches at a reasonable price, Leviton is a solid pick.
Which Leviton Products Work With HomeKit
The Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen lineup is the one to focus on. These are the current HomeKit-compatible models:
- D215S Decora Smart Switch (Wi-Fi 2nd Gen) – 15A in-wall switch for non-dimmable loads. Works with Apple Home, Alexa, and Google. Supports Matter via firmware update. Available in white or with included color change kits. Check price on Amazon.
- D26HD Decora Smart Dimmer (Wi-Fi 2nd Gen) – 600W dimmer for LED, CFL, and incandescent loads. Full Apple Home support with precise dimming. Also supports Matter after a firmware update.
- D215P Decora Smart Plug (Wi-Fi 2nd Gen) – Mini plug-in outlet. Same platform, same app, same HomeKit support.
- D2MSD Decora Smart Motion Sensing Dimmer – Combines occupancy sensing with dimming. Works with Apple Home for automation triggers.
The older first-gen products (DH15S, DH6HD) also work with HomeKit but use an earlier integration method and will not receive Matter updates. If you’re starting fresh, buy 2nd Gen.

Hub Required?
No Leviton hub required. The 2nd Gen devices connect directly to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and are managed through the My Leviton app. No bridge, no extra hardware from Leviton.
There is one caveat specific to HomeKit: Apple requires a home hub (Apple TV 4K, HomePod, or an iPad set as a home hub) for remote access and automations. That’s an Apple requirement, not a Leviton one. If you only need local control while you’re home, you can skip the home hub entirely. Most HomeKit users already have one of these devices anyway.
The My Leviton app (iOS and Android, free) handles scheduling, scenes, and device management independently of Apple Home. It works whether or not you use HomeKit.
How to Set Up Leviton With HomeKit
Install the switch
Turn off the breaker. Wire the Decora Smart switch according to the included instructions – you need a neutral wire (white wire in most US installations). Restore power.
Set up in My Leviton app
Download the My Leviton app on iOS or Android. Create a free account, then follow the in-app pairing process to connect the switch to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Add to Apple Home
Open the Apple Home app. Tap the + button and select Add Accessory. Scan the HomeKit QR code on the switch or inside the packaging. Follow the prompts to assign the switch to a room.
Control with Siri and automations
Once added, you can control the switch with Siri, set schedules, and include it in HomeKit scenes and automations. For remote access, make sure you have an Apple TV, HomePod, or iPad configured as a home hub.
Leviton vs Lutron Caseta for HomeKit
Both work well with HomeKit. The choice usually comes down to your wiring.
Leviton Decora Smart requires a neutral wire. Most homes built after 1990 have one; older homes often do not. If you have neutral wires, Leviton is the better value – the D215S runs around $35-40, connects over Wi-Fi with no hub, and now supports Matter for future compatibility.
Lutron Caseta does not require a neutral wire, which makes it the go-to for older homes. It uses a proprietary RF protocol (Clear Connect) instead of Wi-Fi, which gives it better reliability on busy networks – but it requires the Caseta Smart Bridge ($80+), adding cost to every installation. Dimming performance on Lutron is excellent, particularly with LED loads.
Short version: older home without neutral wires, use Caseta. Newer home with neutral wires and a tight budget, Leviton is the right call.
